Glenn Appleyard
Glenn was appointed to the Commission in June 2004. Prior to commencing work as an economic consultant in 2001, Glenn held several senior positions within the public service. These included the roles of Deputy Secretary in the Tasmanian and Victorian Departments of Treasury and Finance and as Regional Director for the Australian Bureau of Statistics in Tasmania.
Glenn is currently the Chair of the Tasmanian Economic Regulator, is a member of the Australian Accounting Standards Board, and is also the Chair of Tasmania Medicare Local.
Greg Smith
Greg was appointed to the Commission in August 2006. He is a former Executive Director of the Australian Treasury. Greg is now an Adjunct Professor in Economic and Social Policy at the Australian Catholic University and a consultant in public policy.
Patricia Faulkner AO
Patricia was appointed to the Commission in September 2011. She currently Chairs the Prime Minister's Social Inclusion Board and Jesuit Social Services and is a member of the COAG Reform Council and a Board member of St Vincent's Health Australia. Patricia was appointed as the inaugural Chair of the National Health Performance Authority.
Previously, Patricia was a Partner and Global Leader for Healthcare at KPMG and prior to that was the Secretary of the Victorian Department of Human Services.
Jennifer Menzies
Jennifer was appointed to the Commission in September 2011. She is a public policy consultant and prior to that was Secretary to the Council for the Australian Federation. Jennifer is a former senior executive within the Queensland Department of the Premier and Cabinet including Cabinet Secretary and Executive Director Strategic Policy.
Jeffrey Petchey
Jeff was appointed to the Commission in September 2011. He is a Professor of Economics at Curtin Business School, Western Australia. He has published extensively on equalization and fiscal federalism in Australian and international journals and completed policy work on infrastructure equalization and local government funding in Africa on behalf of international agencies including the World Bank.
