Secretary
Mr Jonathan Rollings
Jonathan Rollings was appointed as Secretary of the Commonwealth Grants Commission from 8 February 2021.
Prior to this appointment, Jonathan worked with the Commonwealth Treasury for over twenty years. In this time he held a range of senior leadership roles, including as head of divisions responsible for Budget Policy, Commonwealth-State Relations and Foreign Investment.
Jonathan holds a Commerce degree from the Australian National University and a Graduate Diploma in Advanced Taxation from the University of New South Wales.
Assistant Secretary
Ms Rose Verspaandonk

Rose Verspaandonk has been an Assistant Secretary at the Commonwealth Grants Commission since November 2020.
Rose has previously led analysis, policy advice and program delivery across small business, labour markets, workers’ compensation, income support, human capital and GST policy.
Rose holds an Honours degree in Economics and a Masters degree in political science, both from Monash University.

Ms Therese Maher

Therese Maher joined the Commonwealth Grants Commission in September 2021.Therese oversees revenue, health and community service assessments.
Therese has extensive public sector experience at the Commonwealth and state level across the finance, health, education, training, and industry portfolios.
Therese has led reforms to non‑government school funding, policy innovation through multi-agency data integration projects, and worked closely with the automotive manufacturing sector during a challenging time on support for workers.
Therese holds a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) from Monash University and a Graduate Diploma in Demography from the Australian National University.
